Uses
N-Ethyl-2-Pyrrolidone is a strong polar organic solvent for various polymers. It includes polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), PPS and PI.
1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidone is a material in pharmaceuticals particularly in transdermal patches, agrochemicals especially pesticide, coating solvent, adhesives , dyeing and printing in the textile , cosmetics and personal care products.
It also has excellent cleaning and degreasing properties. It is used in industrial cleaning applications, such as cleaning electronic components and machinery.
Electronic grade N-ethyl pyrrolidone has important uses in lithium batteries and electronics industry. NEP is as a photoresist stripper, which is helpful for removing photoresist coatings from silicon wafers during the manufacturing of integrated circuits.
