Uses
L(+)-Tartaric acid is an acidulant, flavor enhancer, and preservative in the food and beverage. It’s common material in soft drinks, fruit juices, candies, jams, jellies, and certain baked goods. In winemaking, tartaric acid is naturally present in grapes and is used for adjusting the acidity of wines.
L(+)-Tartaric acid has exfoliating and pH-adjusting properties. It makes tartaric acid used in cosmetics and personal care products as an ingredient in skincare products, haircare products, and some topical medications.
In certain electroplating industry or metal industries, it serves as a chelating agent,which helps to remove rust and scale from metals.
