Is lighter color of Glyoxylic acid 50%, the better quality? The answer is NO.
Glyoxylic acid 50% grades is usually according to glyoxal and oxalic acid content. In glyoxylic acid 50% producing, nitric acid is full used as oxidant. Content of nitric acid usually says None Detected or PPM on COA. In oxidation process, it has dealdehyde, deacidification, decolor at same time.
For normal grade Glyoxylic acid 50% with glyoxal 1%max,oxalic acid 1%max color could be 300#-500#. For cosmetic grade Glyoxylic acid 50% with glyoxal 0.1%max,oxalic acid 0.5%max color 50#-100#.
Some customers using glyoxylic acid for hair dyes, they care glyoxylic acid color. More lower color has lower color difference when used for hair. So high value cosmetics or finishing agent choose such cosmetic grade glyoxylic acid 50%.
For Glyoxylic acid 50% with oxidation method, it is right that higher grade has lower color.
It also has one colorless grade glyoxylic acid 50% solution. It is produced by ozone oxidation or dissolving glyoxylic acid monohydrate. Such one color is lower 50#. With our producing capacity rises in second half 2022, such grade cost goes down and price lower than cosmetic grade glyoxylic acid 50% in 2023. We do not advise customers to choose small drum for colorless grade. Many customers does not like such grades. The reasons is as below:
- Add same quantity Glyoxylic acid 50%. It has none same effect with glyoxylic acid with Glyoxal oxidation.
- The finished hair care product has lower straighting effects.
- It is not resistant to low temperatures.
Therefore, it is not right that lower color means higher quality or higher price.
