Trimethylolpropane Use
Coatings and Resins
Trimethylolpropane is extensively used in the production of coatings and precursor of resins including alkyds,
saturated polyesters and polyurethanes (polyester polyol and polycarbonate diol).
It can be polymerized with various monomers such as acrylics and epoxies.
TMP creates durable and high-performance coatings for automotive finishes, industrial paints and wood coatings.
Plasticizers
TMP is a plasticizers in PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and other polymers.
These plasticizers enhance flexibility, durability and processing characteristics of the final products.
Polyurethane Foams
TMP is a key component in the production of polyurethane foams, which are widely used in insulation, furniture, mattresses and automotive interiors.
Synthetic Lubricants
TMP builds block in the synthesis of synthetic lubricants.
It esterifies with fatty acids to create lubricant base oils with excellent thermal and oxidative stability.
Such fatures makes them suitable for high-temperature applications.
Printing Inks
TMP is a material in printing inks, particularly in heatset and sheetfed offset inks.
It is a resin modifier, improving ink adhesion, gloss and drying properties.
Adhesives
TMP is a material in the manufacturing of adhesives, including both solvent-based and water-based formulations.
It contributes to the adhesive’s strength, flexibility and anti-aging.
Polyester Polyols
In the synthesis of polyester polyols, TMP is a crucial component in the production of polyurethane coatings, adhesives and elastomers.
Polyester polyols based on TMP offer excellent chemical resistance and mechanical properties.
It reacts with isocyanates to form the polyol component of the foam, providing structural integrity and cushioning properties.
Fuel Additives
TMP derivatives is additives in gasoline and diesel fuels, which improves fuel efficiency, lubricity and reduce emissions.
Packaging
25kg Polyethylene bag, 500kg/Flexible IBC bag
Storage
TMP is hygroscopic and should keep dry at low temperature preferably below 30℃ to avoid caking. Shelf life: two years.
